Tell us a fun fact about yourself that has nothing to do with cancer.

I love a good story. Especially if it is humorous, unusual, or amazing. I have been collecting stories told by others most of my life.

What brought you hope as you faced cancer?

God. My very positive attitude. My belief of God’s perfect timing. Nothing is without reason. Even if you can not see it. I think this has happened so that I can understand and help others sharing this journey.

How do you live life over cancer?

Through my positivity, my faith and trust in God. Also with support of family and friends. This is the only life we get to live. It is our own no matter the circumstances we have to journey through it. But most of all, music! With a good sound track I can get thru anything. My life consists of various sound tracks that helped me thru some of the most difficult times in my life.

How did you become connected with Hope Scarves?

I found Hope Scarves thru Instagram. It was just there waiting for me to connect. It made me feel that I was not alone to fight this Cancer.

What do you wish other people knew about Hope Scarves?

I would like others to know that there are people out there to help you in your fight. That there is someone who really cares whether you live or die. Its like someone hugging you that you never met but thank God you did meet them.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about sending a Hope Scarf to someone facing cancer?

Do it right now! Don’t wait for the right time etc.. Just do it! It says to that loved one, I get it and I am on your fighting team!

What is one of your dreams or goals for the future?

To live to see Hawaii again with the love of my life. I want more time with my husband and to touch someone’s life with my story. I want to help someone who needs that someone to get thru their personal battle with cancer. But most of all I want to make a difference because I was born and lived!

What is your favorite inspirational quote?

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or to be the mirror that reflects it.

If your friends or family describe you in a couple of words, what would they say?

Positive, funny, crazy, eccentric, and a ball of fire. My husband might say I am stubborn.

Please share something you learned facing cancer.

I didn’t realize that I am very strong. I found out that my mother has been training me for this time in my life since I was born. I think that she would be extremely proud of me right now. I am a warrior!
