Meet Iffat Zahra
Iffat is 30 years old and facing Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. She lives her life over cancer by doing things that help others. So there is no doubt why she is described by her friends as being courageous and kind-hearted.
Iffat became connected to Hope Scarves when she read the story that traveled with her scarf. “It meant a lot to me that someone from the other side of the world was praying for me and supporting me and understood my feelings.” And she would tell anyone thinking about sending a Hope Scarf to friend facing cancer that it is the most precious gift you could do! “You can’t imagine how much a Hope Scarf would mean to your friend. It simply gives them the courage to fight.”
Iffat’s favorite quote is “No One is YOU and that is your POWER”
Cancer is hard. But everyday is a gift to live life over cancer. Iffat lives her life over cancer by realizing nothing is permanent. Life is short and it’s best to simply be kind to the people around you.
You are beautiful Iffat, and thank you for being our Face of Hope!
In November 2020 My breast cancer after 23 years returned. I have a small tumor in my back that is not operable. So now I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Luckily I have been able to receive radiation treatments and scans are showing that the tumor is shrinking. I take daily prescriptions of Letrozole and Ibranz. I was told that I may not lose my hair but I am losing it slowly and since I may take medication for the rest of my life it will someday be totally gone as it is very thin now.
Rosalie- I’m glad there is a treatment option for you. I was on that combo of medications myself and my thin hair held on, I hope the same will be true for you. Each day is a gift – live fully even now as you face stage 4 breast cancer. It is possible!
Hi Rosalie!
I have MBC too after being cancer free for 10 years. Living with MBC for almost 9 years now. Been on Ibrance and Falsodex for 4 years next month. I have thinned hair too. About to chop it off and wear it short and hopefully curly with fab glamorous glasses.
When we deal with this disease we must find ways to make ourselves look and feel good. Hugs to you. Stay positive!
Praying for you from Louisville Kentucky!!
As I wake up each morning I thank God for the new day and ask Him how I can glorify Him today.
Hate to read stories about people under 30 who have stage 4 breast cancer. It’s my mission to help in whatever ways I can. I was dxed early stage in 2004 then stage 4 in 2014. Am NEAD now. Been on Ibrance and Falsodex shots since 2019. Had tumors in lungs and bones. Feel great! Want all to know there is still life to live with stage 4 breast cancer. Many new treatments are working well! Join a clinical trial so we will have even more options.
