Maria connected with Hope Scarves in 2017 and has honored us with her story and returned scarf. Here she shares facing Stage 3 Breast Cancer with her loved one’s arms around her.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that has nothing to do with cancer.
I love to spend time with my grandchildren.
What brought you hope as you faced cancer?
My family has brought me the most hope.
How do you live life over cancer?
With hope and the love and support from my family and friends.
How did you become connected with Hope Scarves?
I was searching through the internet, and found you. I received a scarf and felt great knowing that there is a place I can go for support.
What do you wish other people knew about Hope Scarves?
To go and do it. The person who will receive a Hope Scarf will feel so blessed.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about sending a Hope Scarf to someone facing cancer?
Just do it. There are so many women that can’t afford a scarf and feel unattractive without their hair.
What is one of your dreams or goals for the future?
To continue with life and be cancer free forever.
If your friends or family describe you in a couple of words, what would they say?
Strong; Full of Live; Determined to live and fight this disease.
