Hope Scarves Founder Honored in Oaks Parade at Churchill Downs

Hope Scarves Founder/Director, Lara MacGregor, was chosen to be one of the 138 women honored to walk in the Survivors Parade at the 138th Running of the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs Friday, May 4, 2012.  Lara shares “It was really amazing to walk with these beautiful women and be cheered by 100,000. Cancer touches so many families- it truly was a celebration of hope and joy to honor these 138 women who beat cancer. I’m honored to have been a part of it.”

Scarves arriving!

We received 14 scarves in the mail Monday from some of the amazing women we met at C4YW in New Orleans.  I’ve already dropped them off at Highland Cleaners and soon they will be sent on their way along with the stories of the women who wore them.  If you picked up a story form at the conference – please send it in along with your scarves!  We love to see our mailbox full of these white envelopes!

Hope Scarves debut in New Orleans.

Hope Scarves made its debut in New Orleans at the Conference 4 Young Women. We met so many amazing young survivors!  It was inspiring to listen to their stories and see their excitement for our mission.  We collected stories and gave women pre addressed envelopes to send their scarves in!  Here we go!

It started with one

Roberta was the first person Lara gave a scarf to.  Now her scarves are part of our collection, sharing hope and encouragement with other women.
