National Coalition for LGBT Health

Committed to improving the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals through federal and local advocacy, education, and research. The Coalition strives to address the entire LGBTQ+ community, including individuals of every sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, and age regardless of disability, income, education, and geography

The National LGBT Cancer Network

Works to improve the lives of LGBT cancer survivors and those at risk through education, training and advocacy. Services include online support groups and a directory of LGBT-friendly cancer treatment facilities.

The National LGBT Cancer Project

A support and advocacy organization focusing on the needs of LGBT cancer survivors. Their services include peer to peer support, patient navigation, education and advocacy.

Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE)

Offers supportive services and consumer resources for LGBT older adults and their caregivers.

Religious Affiliation

Catholic & Christian

Provides engagements with cancer patients through cancer prayers, scriptures and interactions. Engagements include; social media outreach, e-newsletters, prayer team requests, 30 days of Cancer Prayer event, and volunteer connections (both group and individual).

Catholic Medical Association

Represent Catholics in the medical community by organizing ducational resources and events, advocate for members, the Church, and the medical profession in public forums, and by provide guidance for bishops and other national leaders on healthcare ethics and policy.

Christian Medical & Dental Association

Provides programs and services supporting its mission to “change hearts in healthcare,” promotes positions and addresses policies on healthcare issues; conducts overseas medical education and evangelism projects; coordinates a network of Christian healthcare professionals for fellowship and professional growth.

Endurance

Is an encouragement program that validates the emotional, relational and spiritual challenges encounteredwith a cancer diagnosis. This organization has support groups, prayer requests, and encouragement gifts.

Together Living with Cancer

Offers peer group support for individuals and their family members dealing with cancer, as well as sprititual retreats and direction.

Jewish

Chai Lifeline

Is an international support network, providing social, emotional, and practical assistance to children, families, and communities impacted by medical crises and trauma through a variety of year-round programs and services.

Chai4ever

For families that have a parent facing cancer. Relieves the stress of child care, financial burdens, psychological effects on family members, meals, transportation, housekeeping and more. Partners with school, synagogues and communities to help them work together to mitigate the potentially devastating impact of serious illness or community crises. Plans family day trips and specific activities for children, along with meetings and retreats for the parents.

Kapayim

Seeks to lessen the negative impact of cancer and other serious short- term illnesses on the patient, siblings and the whole family unit. Kapayim provides effective supports that are either Center-based, home based, or hospital based in order to sustain the usual patterns of family and child functioning.

Kochavim

Provides educational services to maintain children’s educational development, hosting programs, and a myriad of other resources ensure that families are not alone as they combat the practical and emotional side effects of illness.

Sharsheret

Provides culturally sensitive education and support to young Jewish women diagnosed with breast cancer and people at risk of developing breast cancer. The organization also shares educational resources with Jewish communities and healthcare organizations.

Islamic/Muslim

Sisters Cancer Support Group

A community based, not-for-profit, registered charity organisation that provides support for women from multicultural backgrounds who are affected by cancer.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Connects immigrants and other medically underserved individuals with resources and services that address disparities in accessing and completing cancer care.

Safeena Muslim Cancer Support Network

Provides free, specific faith-based information for Muslims on the signs, symptoms and treatment for cancers as well as end-of-life care, and emotional, practical, financial, and psychological support, alongside a dedicated Muslim befriending service. Also provides specialist cultural, religious and practical help to patients and their families from Islamic communities.

African American Breast Cancer Alliance (AABCA)

Seeks to create a network of black women, men, families and communities affected by breast cancer that feels connected, informed and supported.

Black in Cancer

Aims to strengthen the network between Black people in the cancer space whilst highlighting Black excellence in cancer research and medicine.

Black Women’s Health Imperative

Target the most pressing health issues that affect Black women and girls in the U.S. through investments in evidence based strategies, bold programs and advocate health-promoting policies.

Carrie’s TOUCH

Works to humanize the Black woman and her experience with breast cancer through survivor support, research, awareness and education, advocacy, and technology.

For the Breast of Us

Aims to empower women of color affected by breast cancer through education, advocacy, and community. Offerings include medical expert webinars and video roundtables with others who’ve been diagnosed.

The Chrysalis Initiative

Offers support for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer. Chrysalis aims to make it easier for disparate groups to get care through individual coaching, mobile resources, and online learning opportunities.

Touch, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance

Touch aims to improve clinical trial research and access to healthcare for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer and provides guidance for understanding and finding clinical trials. The alliance also connects Black women living with breast cancer to peers and professionals.

Sisters Network, Inc.

Works to increase local and national attention to the impact breast cancer has in the Black community and shares resources for Black women affected by breast cancer.

Hispanic

Círculo de Vida

Provide translation services for the patient and physician at the time of diagnosis, offer in-hospital and in-home support during surgery and treatment, provide a wide range of Spanish-language support groups for the patients and their children, as well as case management, resource referrals and in-home support for the terminally ill.

Healthy Hispanic Living

Promotes health in all its forms – physical, mental, financial and societal – by changing the conversation from illness to wellness, and by addressing the issues from a cultural point of view.

Latina Association for Breast Cancer

Dedicated to empowering Hispanic/Latina breast cancer survivors by providing comprehensive , support, and resources for women facing a breast cancer diagnosis.

Latino Cancer Institute

Nationwide community and research network dedicated to solving the issues and burden of Latino cancer.

Latinas Contra Cancer

Provides cancer health education, patient navigation and psychosocial family support group services focused on underserved, low income and Spanish-speaking women.

Nueva Vida

Informs, supports and empowers Latina families in the Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD, metropolitan areas whose lives are affected by cancer. Services include patient navigation, individual therapy, support groups, and peer-counseling.

Redes En Acción

Dedicated to reducing Latino cancer with a national network of community groups, researchers, government health agencies and the public. Core activities include research, training, and stimulating awareness of cancer and resources in Latino communities

Asian

Dedicated to providing free, professional support services including resource navigation, counseling, support groups, educational workshops, publications and financial assistance to anyone affected by cancer.
