Sherrel – Burleson, TX

June 2018

We love Sherrel’s focus on inspiring and supporting others. Living with positivity and faith, she carries the torch of survivorship for us all.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that has nothing to do with cancer.

I love to make people laugh and be encouraging and inspiring to others.

What brought you hope as you faced cancer?

How do you live life over cancer?

Staying positive and having a great support system.

How did you become connected with Hope Scarves?

I requested a scarf when I lost my hair during chemotherapy. It meant a lot.

What do you wish other people knew about Hope Scarves?

That they are a great support organization.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about sending a Hope Scarf to someone facing cancer?

I would tell them to go for it. You won’t be disappointed.

What is one of your dreams or goals for the future?

I pray that the cancer is gone for good. Having to go through this twice was very hard. I would like to be able to tell my story to someone that doesn’t believe there’s hope on the other side of this journey.

What is your favorite inspirational quote?

“Live and let God”

If your friends or family had to describe you in a couple of words, what would they say?

Strong, courageous and encouraging.

Please share something you learned facing cancer.

Being positive, and believing in positivity, is the key.
